What is Pediatric Urinary Incontinence (Bed-wetting)?

The ability to control the bladder is not fully developed in children under the age of three. However, as children become older, they develop bladder control. Pediatric Urinary Incontinence occurs when children lose bladder control even after being toilet trained. Urinary incontinence in children may occur during the day or when they are asleep at night. In fact, one in ten children wet themselves during the day. Incontinence in children may impact their other spheres like play, academics and it can also affect their self-esteem. If your child has issues with bladder control, you must remember that it is not their fault.

Pediatric Urinary Incontinence can be pretty frustrating, but fortunately, there are many ways to treat the issue.

JOGO Treatment Plan For Pediatric Urinary Incontinence

A small child getting treatment for urinary incontinence.

The primary objective of our program is to provide your child with a permanent* relief from bedwetting and other bladder control issues.

  • JOGO therapy for children starts with an orientation about the equipment. The child is taught how the device works in a play-way method. This is followed by a comprehensive assessment.
  • JOGO provides meaningful feedback from your child’s hips, pelvis and lower abdomen muscles. The entire process is gamified to make your child comfortable and participate actively in the treatment sessions. While your child is playing, our JOGO therapist monitors their muscle activity on a tab screen. Your child learns to strengthen and/or relax their pelvic floor muscles by playing the game with the help of JOGO Biofeedback. After each session, your child will be given some pelvic floor exercises to practice at home. Most children learn to control their bladder within 10 sessions conducted once in a week, although some may need additional sessions.

With JOGO Therapy, Pediatric Urinary Incontinence is no longer an issue. For sure your child will enjoy the therapy sessions and their time at JOGO Clinic while learning to control the bladder!
